Front Range Pagan Pride, a local non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of religion and elimination of prejudice and discrimination based on religious beliefs, is holding a festival on Saturday September 18, 2010, 10am to 6pm at Stapleton Central Park in the Festival Area at 8601 Martin Luther King Blvd in Denver. Approx I-70 and Quebec in the Northfield area.
Plenty of off-street parking and on a bus route!
The purpose of the festival is to three-fold:
•
First it is an opportunity for Pagans to network with one another and to celebrate the Autumn Equinox with an open ritual.
•
Secondly we request attendees to bring a canned good to donate to the Colorado Aids Project Food Bank, a charitable activity, to share our abundant harvest with others in need, and to make a clear statement to those who have misconceptions about Paganism. We know that our ethics, based on concern for ecology, personal responsibility, and individual freedom, mean that we feel strongly called to actions of social responsibility. It is important for us to highlight our similarity to other religions in that regard.
•
And lastly it is an opportunity for the local media and other interested people to come learn the truth about Paganism in our communities, refute common misconceptions, and draw political attention to Paganism in order to try to prevent legislative discrimination against Pagans.
